Despite the ongoing situation, at the forefront of our thoughts are new horizons: We are looking forward to another period of change, in our own research inquiries, the digital memory field and the next steps of the POEM network. In this issue we hear from the POEM fellows on their research and reflection on concepts such as equal access, open knowledge, museum ethics and caring for digital infrastructures. As the use of online media by memory institutions for staying connected to audiences increases – spurred by the pandemic, so too, will the importance of reflecting on the complex aspects or the nitty gritty of digital media memory practices.
